The cult classic comedy franchise \u201cSuper Troopers\u201d is officially getting another chapter.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Searchlight Pictures has confirmed that \u201cSuper Troopers 3\u201d is heading into production, with the beloved comedy troupe Broken Lizard returning to write, direct, and star in the film.<\/p>\n

Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske – the five members of Broken Lizard – will reprise their roles while also handling the script. Chandrasekhar will once again direct, continuing his long-standing collaboration with producer Richard Perello and Searchlight Pictures.<\/p>\n

Star-Studded Cast Joins the Lizard Patrol<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Alongside the original cast, several familiar faces and new additions have joined the upcoming sequel. Brian Cox, best known for his Emmy-nominated role in HBO\u2019s \u201cSuccession\u201d and his previous appearances in the franchise, returns as Captain John O\u2019Hagan. Marisa Coughlan also reprises her role as Ursula Hanson.<\/p>\n

The original \u201cSuper Troopers\u201d was released in 2001 after premiering at the Sundance Film Festival. Distributed by Fox Searchlight, the film became a cult hit and won the Audience Award at South by Southwest. Its 2018 sequel, \u201cSuper Troopers 2,\u201d also directed by Chandrasekhar, continued the franchise\u2019s tradition of offbeat police comedy and fan-driven success.<\/p>\n
