Breakout DJ, singer, and producer Omar+ joined forces with rising star Luke Dean to release one of the summer’s most hyped tracks – ‘Make Believe’.
The record was released on August 15th through Insomniac Records and has been previewed for months in performances and online, generating unprecedented buzz among fans itching to finally have their hands on it.
The wait wasn’t in vain. ‘Make Believe’ is an indisputable piece of UK house perfection, fuelled by a lo-slung beat that won’t relinquish. It is in the tradition of Omar+’s and Josh Baker’s Back It Up, and Max Dean, Luke Dean & Locky’s chart-topping UK Top 20 hit Can’t Decide, beautifully soundtracking the late summer evenings of 2025. Again, Omar+’s silky, early-2000s RnB-esque vocals add a distinctive sheen that has kept fans and algorithms on tenterhooks throughout the year.
For Luke Dean, ‘Make Believe’ comes hot on the heels of the phenomenal success of Can’t Decide, his very first charting single, which reached #13 in the UK Top 20. That taste of success has driven a hectic touring diary, with gigs at Hide & Seek, Higher Love, Mint Festival, and One Life for Michael Bibi. This release is another indication that Luke is solidifying his reputation as one of the UK’s top next-gen selectors.
Omar+ is also burning it up. His first EP, Open Your Eyes, came out in July, highlighting his triple-threat style of writing, producing, and singing. He’s had a busy summer, featuring a big festival debut at Junction 2, kicking off his monthly Rinse FM residency, and live performances that continue to justify why he’s one of the hottest new names on the circuit.
‘Make Believe’ is more than a collab, it’s a proclamation. It combines two visionaries at the height of their powers, bringing Luke Dean’s spotless ear for club-friendly beats and Omar+’s capacity to create earworm hooks that haunt your brain for weeks. It’s the kind of song that is just as comfortable in a steamy club at 2 in the morning as it is pumping from a festival headliner stage.
With the UK house scene in full swing, ‘Make Believe’ sneaks in as a genre-defining track of the summer. It’s not merely surfing on the wave – it’s creating it. And if this is what Luke Dean and Omar+ can produce together, their fans may well begin asking for more collabs before the summer’s done.
